Estimates and priced BOQs for NZ builders

Send us the plans. Get back an itemised bill of quantities you can price, quote and win work from, without losing another night to the take-off.

The take-off is the job nobody has time for

You’re on the tools all day. Then the plans for a new job come in, and the client wants a price by Friday.

So the take-off gets done at the kitchen table at 9pm. You’re tired, the plans are dense, and it’s easy to miss a wall, a run of flashings or a few square metres of cladding.

Miss enough and you’ve priced yourself out of a job you should have won, or into a job you’ll lose money on.

There’s a better use of your evenings.

What you get

  • An itemised bill of quantities measured from your plans, broken down by trade and element, so you can drop in your own rates and have a quote ready fast.
  • Every quantity traceable back to the drawings, so you can check any line and explain it to your client if they ask.
  • A fixed fee agreed before we start, so you know the cost of the estimate before you commit to it.
  • Priced options for your client, for example a basic, standard and premium spec, so the homeowner can pick a level instead of shopping your price around.
  • A person to ring when you want to query a line or talk through the spec.

What we need from you

  • Architectural plans (the minimum)
  • Engineering drawings and specifications, if you have them
  • Anything the client has told you about finishes, fixtures or allowances
  • Your deadline

If something’s missing, we’ll tell you before we quote.

How long it takes

Within 48 hours of you approving the quote, for most jobs. If yours is bigger or more complex, we’ll tell you before you say yes.

Pricing to a tender deadline? Put the date on the form and we’ll tell you straight away if we can make it.

Sending us work every week?

Questions builders ask

I can do my own take-offs. Why would I pay someone?
You can, and plenty of good builders do. The question is whether that’s the best use of your time. Every hour on a take-off is an hour not on site, not following up quotes and not at home. We’d rather you spent it winning the next job.

Will the quantities match how I price?
We break them down by trade and element so you can apply your own rates. If you’ve got a preferred layout, send us an example and we’ll work to it.

Is my client’s information kept private?
Yes. Your plans and numbers are used only for your job.
